MONTREAL

The
Basics

Montréal is the largest city in Canada's Québec province.

What
Drew Me

Montreal is a city that not many people I know have traveled to. I was drawn by the French influence and found it as a good excuse to visit Quebec at least once.

Do I Recommend Visiting?

If you're into cities, Montreal is just another one. Smaller than Toronto and mainly French, it's like knockoff Paris to me. Knockoff meaning that there are lots of similarities, but not nearly as nice. The transit system is similar, the cobblestone side-streets are similar, and of course, everything is in French.

I personally don't recommend Montreal. The people are rude and it's far more expensive than Toronto is. I don't feel like Montreal has a lot to offer. I've only been there once and I honestly don't see myself ever going back.

However, if you'd like to be in France without paying for a flight there, Montreal is a good in-between.

If you're planning on heading there, I'd say a weekend, maybe even less, is enough to cover this trip.
